13 Adar I 5779
UPCOMING EVENTS
On Tuesday February 19 and Wednesday February 20 we will mark Purim Katan, the "small" Purim. This is the date when we would have celebrated Purim if there were only one Adar. We observe Purim on the 14th and 15th of Adar II. Nonetheless, on 14 and 15 of Adar I we mark Purim in a very small way. The observance consists merely of not saying Tachanun and L'amnatzeach during services.
Monday evening, February 18 is the final time to recite the sanctification of the new moon, kiddush levana.
SAVE THE DATE: On Shabbat Parshat Pekudei we will once again host the YU-Torah Ambassadors. Join us for Shabbat dinner on Friday evening, March 8 at 7:00 PM together with our special guests for Shabbat, Rabbi and Rebbetzin Ya'akov Wasser!!! Please RSVP to office@mkhc.org or leave a message at 914 242 7460. On Shabbat afternoon at 5:30 PM MKHC invites all women to join Rebbetzin Wasser and Rebbeztin Greer at the home of the Greer's at 25 Barker Street, Unit 312 for a get together for a light meal, words of inspiration and comraderie.
Tot Shabbat: On Saturday morning, March 9 at 11:00 AM all children 9 years old and younger are invited to come learn about Purim and enjoy ice cream sundaes! The adults are invited for a hot kiddush!
PURIM IS COMING TO THE VILLAGE!!!! On Wednesday evening, March 20 we will read the Purim story at 7:30 PM and enjoy a boutique wine tasting and a magician for the youngsters! On Thursday March 22, we will host an early-bird "quick" megilah reading from 7:30-7:50 AM followed by Shachrit at 8:00 AM and gourmet breakfast and megillah reading at 8:45 AM. More details to follow.
