About Us
Mount Kisco Hebrew Congregation is a Modern Orthodox synagogue with traditional Jewish values in Northern Westchester County, New York.
In 2006 MKHC celebrated its 100-year anniversary, We have approximately 50 family members. We are here for you and your family to enjoy the practice of Judaism as part of a vibrant Modern Orthodox Community. We are here to inspire and guide you. Our services follow the Orthodox traditions, but we open our arms to any Jews in Westchester County who wish to join us.
In 2018 we engaged Rabbi Dov Greer as our spiritual leader, and were joined by him and Rebbetzin Sima Greer with their six children to become part of our family. In the short period since they joined our community they have inspired us with their leadership, their knowledge, their love and their enthusiasm.
Learning
Our educational programs include a legendary and robust adult education program. Rabbi Greer's teaching brings lessons from the Torah together with the challenges of our daily lives, with kindness and with inspiration. Rabbi Alpert leads Men's Thursday evening Torah classes, which we supplement with Single Malt whisky and home made Cholent. Rebbitzin Sima Greer leads Women's Torah classes on Shabbos after the morning services once a month. Our goal is to provide for a lifetime of Jewish learning.
Prayer & Worship
We provide prayer services for Friday night, Shabbos morning and Shabbos afternoon as well as Sunday and weekday morning Shacharis services. We also gather minyanim for those reciting Kaddish or commemorating a Yahrzeit.
Now, as always, Mount Kisco Hebrew Congregation can be your second home, your true Bet Hamedresh.
Celebration
We celebrate our Community and we celebrate our members! Our Maccabee Gala in December 2018 welcomed Rabbi Dov and Rebbitzen Sima Greer, and honored President Dr. Jerry Linsner, Past President Dov Matz, Religious Committee member Robin Tanzman, and Gabbai Dr. Morris Glassman!
